Invisalign Orthodontic Treatment
What is it?
Invisalign is a clear retainer orthodontic treatment that can help correct malocclusions, crowding, spacing , tipped teeth, open bites, and other unesthetic appearances. Invisalign treatment is composed of comfortable, clear aligners that have minimal interfence on your day to day routine.
How does it work?
Invisalign treatment uses clear plastic aligners to move and rotate teeth. Small tooth colored engagers are sometimes placed on select teeth to help with movement. Aligners are recommended to be worn all day and only taken out to eat and brush your teeth. Movement can only occur when aligners are in so compliance is essential to success of the case. Patients will switch to a new set of aligners every two weeks to aid progressive movement. After the initial visit, the patient is typically only asked to come to the office for a progress check approximately every six weeks. The more movement necessary to straighten and correct malaligned teeth, the more aligners the patient will receive. Treatment times vary based on each patient's individual case.
How do I know if this is right for me?
Patients need to schedule a consultation to discuss the treatment steps, potential outcomes, and if Invisalign treatment is best for you. In some cases, traditional orthodontics may still be necessary. Dr. Marc Clayton will walk you through the treatment steps and potential functional and esthetic benefits associated with Invisalign treatment. Your Invisalign treatment is completely personalized to your wants and needs.
